Step 1: You Submit the Whisper

When you submit a tale to Lady Johnson’s Ledger, you are contributing to a grand literary tradition — one steeped in lace, satire, mystery, and charm.

Whether your tale is dramatic, heartfelt, mysterious, or mildly scandalous, we thank you for entrusting us with your words.

Step 2: We Review & Classify

Once received, your email submissions are reviewed by our editorial team and sorted into one of four classifications:

Classified - The submission is retained for internal use, historical archive, or future consideration. It is not released publicly. These are whispers too potent — or too sacred — for the ballroom floor.

Unclassified - The submission is eligible for editorial transformation and public release in an upcoming edition. These are whispers ready to make the rounds of the parlor.​

Satirical Rewrite Pending -

Your tale is undergoing literary enhancement — stylized in Lady Johnson’s voice, reshaped for tone, rhythm, and delight. Real drama with a velvet twist.​

Pending Discretion -

Your whisper is under further review due to content sensitivity, possible privacy concerns, or historical verification. Sometimes, the best stories need just a touch more polish.

Step 3: Editorial Crafting

If selected for publishing, your submission is:

• Edited for clarity, anonymity, and tone.

• Rewritten in Miss Johnson’s signature style — clever, classy, and never cruel.

• Paired with accompanying visuals, headlines, and in some cases, narrated by Lady Johnson herself.

• Esteemed Ledger Sent (arriving by way of the electric post) the email — sent directly to your inbox once a month for a fancy scandalous read,

Step 4: It Becomes Part of the Ledger

Once your whisper has passed through editorial — It becomes part of a regional Ledger, tailored to your state.
It may be archived in the Society's Record, our permanent historical archive.
It may also appear in one of our featured columns:

• Scandals of the Past (real historical recaps)

• Whispers of your District (subscribers submissions refined)

• Dusting Off the Medals (subscribers honoring unsung heroes)

• History's Legacy of Scandals (scandals across all lands worthy of the pen)

A Note on Protection & Privacy

Lady Johnson’s Ledger is based in the great state of Texas and operates nationally across all 50 states. We adhere to legal protections consistent with U.S. free speech, satire, and journalism ethics. Where applicable, submissions and editorial discretion may also fall under Texas Reporter Shield Laws and other state-level media protections. Your identity will never be published, however if necessary it will never be without consent.
We may store submissions for editorial purposes, but we do not share, sell, or license whispers to any outside party.

When you submit your posts to us, you agree to our Terms of Submission — which includes consent for editorial editing, stylization, anonymization, and classification.

You understand that not all submissions are published, and some may be stored or released at a later date, based solely on our editorial judgment.
